Coggeshall's volunteer-run Museum was established to preserve the village's historic past and to carry on recording today's events for generations to come. The memorabilia on show has been donated by local people and the exhibits change from year to year, different themes taking precedence, so there is always something new to see. Just recently the Museum commissioned Britannia Storage Systems Ltd, based just up the road on Earls Colne Business Park (the former wartime airfield) to make 3 cases, the largest of which holds an important collection of medieval tiles from the former Cistercian abbey at Coggeshall.
It is hoped that visitors to the museum, whether from Coggeshall itself or from further afield, will find something of interest in their look at Coggeshall's past and, above all, will enjoy their visit and come again.
