The Maritime Heritage Centre, adjacent to Brunel's SS Great Britain, has been refurbished to house a special exhibition to celebrate the bicentenary of Brunel's birth in April 1806.
'The Nine Lives of I K Brunel' charts the life of the most famous engineer of his day, recalling the highs and lows of his career as well as his various brushes with disaster.
For their gallery rufurbishment
Britannia installed Frank Showcase System acrylic cases that were both lightweight
and fully demountable. Some were wall mounted for the display of artworks whilst others were mounted on a variety of plinths that were also supplied by Britannia. Colours were chosen to represent the different "lives" of I K Brunel and plinths were colour coated to match these.
